Welcome to Three Mile Cross Bowling Club

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

** IMPORTANT MESSAGE ABOUT PARKING **

We are having the grass car park re-surfaced . The work will take a week, commencing Monday, August 9.

Any home games can still be played but parking at the green will not be possible during working hours. It will also be difficult in the evening, although there is limited parking on site.

We have permission to park on Mitford Close, next door to the green. This has been kindly offered by The Vines Church/School and Woolf Bond Planning.

However, there is a limit on numbers. Please help by car sharing as much as possible to help reduce the impact of the problem.

Our Captains will be advising visiting teams as appropriate.

Anyone who has visited Three Mile Cross BC will be aware of the problems associated with the grass car park. We have invested heavily in having it improved for use in future years.

Apologies for any inconvenience.

The club is a lawn green bowling club situated in the village of Three Mile Cross, south of Reading. The club was formed in 1938 and celebrated its 80th year in 2018.

We are affiliated to the Royal County of Berkshire Bowling Association and also to Bowls England.

The club is open on most days from mid April to late September, depending on whether competitive matches are being played. We currently have around 100 members, predominantly playing members but we also have a number of social members.

If anyone is interested in taking up bowling you will receive a warm welcome. See the Fixtues page for the date of our Annual Open Weekend.

The green is widely regarded as one of the best playing surfaces in the county. We regularly host matches on behalf of Berkshire County and touring teams from around the south of England.

We have teams that play in the Kennet League for men and the Thames Valley Ladies League for ladies.

Friendly games against other clubs are played throughout the summer, usually on Saturday and Sunday afternoons and Wednesday evenings. League games and ladies-only friendlies are played on weekdays. Details of all these games are shown on the Fixtures page.

Visitors and spectators are very welcome now that restrictions have been lifted.

Access to the club is along a lane owned by Montelle Motors [ MOT Centre ]. See the DIRECTIONS page for further details.

We have a large car park beyond the green. Please park there and not on the hard standing area in the right hand corner of the site, this space is allocated to the garage. SEE THE NEWS PAGE WITH REGARD TO RESURFACING OF THE GRASS CAR PARK.

If anyone is interested in having a go at bowling please get in touch. See the Contacts page.
